Day 1
Welcome to Banff
A stay at a historic mountain resort awaits you in Banff. Upon arrival at Calgary Airport, if you have purchased an airport transfer, your driver will take you to your hotel. Built in the distinctive Canadian Chateau style, it is one of the country’s earliest examples of grand railway hotels. Tonight, join your tour director and fellow travelers for a welcome dinner.
Day 2
Getting to know Banff
Commune with nature by joining an unforgettable experience with a local Cree Iroquois expert. Discover the culture of the indigenous peoples, for example how plants and animals such as bears are of great importance. This authentic immersion into the indigenous Cree community is not only enlightening, but also helps ensure the sustainability of the community and culture. Go on a guided walk in the Boreal Forest and learn about the indigenous world of herbal medicine, as well as the historical and modern uses of plants and listen to fascinating stories about indigenous peoples. This afternoon, visit the White Museum and enjoy artwork inspired by the local Rocky Mountains. Or learn the story of Fairmont Banff Springs from an experienced ambassador. Hear stories about events that took place around and in this hotel and get your own map of the highlights to discover.
Day 3
A trip to Lake Louise
Three Sisters Peak or Mount Assiniboine will be impressive with optional helicopter flights this morning (weather dependent). Head to Moraine Lake (seasonal) – Canada’s largest glacial lake – for a photo stop before a decadent lunch at Restaurant Louiza at Chateau Lake Louise. Marvel at the towering peaks and majesty of the Victoria Glacier. Snap a photo or two of turquoise Lake Louise and the stark backdrop of one of the most famous mountain landscapes in the world before returning to Banff to enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. This evening, opt for a scenic end to the day with a ride on the Banff Gondola.
Day 4
Lakes, mountains and glaciers
The glaciers, waterfalls and peaks of Yoho Park are revealed on this morning’s visit to Yoho National Park. Your trip includes photo opportunities at Emerald Lake and Takakkau Falls before heading out on the Icefields Parkway, one of the most beautiful drives on the planet. Admire the spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains with plenty of photo opportunities. A warm welcome greets you at the country’s first and only glacier-view resort with champagne and appetizers. Before dinner, take advantage of the long daylight hours and take an after-hours tour of the Columbia Icefield Skywalk, a glass-floored walkway above the Sanwapta Valley with its waterfalls and wildlife. After your visit to the Skywalk, treat yourself to a delicious local Canadian-inspired dinner, sip cocktails and admire the spectacular views of the glaciers that surround the restaurant.
Day 5
Glacier adventure
Before other travelers arrive, head to the Athabasca Glacier in the massive Ice Explorer for an after-hours tour. Join a local expert and walk on a frozen stream of ice. Discover the beauty and immensity of the glacier while learning about the history and geology of the region. Continue along the beautiful Icefields Park and arrive at Jasper National Park with its soothing mineral hot springs, colorful meadows and majestic mountains.
Day 6
Acquaintance with jasper
Enjoy a leisurely start to this morning, or join the fun and experience the optional Light Rafting, a scenic rafting trip down the Athabasca River, a designated Canadian Heritage River. A licensed National Park guide will provide commentary on Jaspma’s human and natural history, taking you along the same route used by ‘fur traders’ over 2 centuries ago. Don’t worry, the guides do all the paddling; You lean back in your chair and enjoy exploring all the spectacular views. There is always a chance to see a variety of wildlife, including moose, deer, elk, coyotes, wolves, eagles, ospreys, mountain sheep and bears. Join your tour director on an educational walk through Malin Canyon, the deepest gorge in Jasper National Park.
Day 7

This morning, enjoy a scenic drive down to Kananaskis, often kept as a secret mountain preserve for locals, away from the masses visiting nearby Banff National Park. Enjoy an afternoon exploring the local trails surrounding your high-end wilderness hotel, or head to the Nordic Spa just steps from the lodge. Tonight, gather with your fellow travelers for a celebratory dinner and a toast to your wonderful trip to the Canadian Rockies.
